Officer Rocket, a graded stakes winner at 2, has been retired from racing for stallion duty at Bybee Road Farm near Charles Town, W. Va. The 6-year-old son of Officer will stand for a private fee to approved mares.
Officer Rocket won consecutive stakes as a 2-year-old. He captured the Spectacular Bid Stakes by 13 lengths and then deadheated for first in the Arlington-Washington Breeders’ Cup Futurity (gr. III), with subsequent champion Street Sense finishing directly behind the pair.
Officer Rocket, who also was a stakes winner at 4, won or placed 21 of 40 races and earned $457,567. He finished in the top three in nine stakes, including the Rebel Stakes (gr. III), won by Curlin.
Bred in Great Britain, Officer Rocket was produced from grade I stakes-placed Ocean View (by Gone West).
