Mr. Greeley Colt Brings $90,000 at Keeneland

A bay colt by Mr. Greeley brought a top price of $90,000 at Thursday's session of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale.
Jack Smith Thoroughbreds bought the chestnut colt, Steve's Trial, who is out of Lona's Love, by Zonic. Spendthrift Farm LLC, as agent, consigned the colt.
Keeneland sold 236 horses Thursday for $3,333,200, an average of $14,124 and a median of $7,350. At the corresponding session last year, 287 horses were sold for $5,338,2000, an average of $18,600 and a median of $12,000.
Through 10 days of the 13-day auction, 2,372 horses have been sold for $249,615,700, an average of $105,234 and a median of $37,500. At this point last year, 2,684 horses had been sold for $283,804,000, an average of $105,739 and a median of $37,000.
The sale continues through Sunday.
