Malibu Moonshine to Stand in New York

Malibu Moonshine, a winner of seven stakes in a hard-knocking seven-year campaign, has been retired and will stand at Carlland Stables near Avon, N.Y. for the 2011 breeding season.

In all, the son of red-hot sire Malibu Moon   won 12 of 62 starts and earned $597,370. He is out of the Coastal mare Time to Coast.

A winner of the nine-furlong Stymie Handicap at Aqueduct in 2008, Malibu Moonshine also placed in seven stakes including a third-place finish in the 2007 Suburban Handicap (gr. I).
 
He won at distances from 5 furlongs to 1 ¾ miles at seven different tracks proving his soundness and versatility. He scored a Beyer Speed Figure of 103 and holds a track record for 1 ½ miles at Monmouth Park.
 
Malibu Moonshine is the property of Joseph Forrest and will stand for $3,000 live foal.
