To make up for the day of racing lost to heavy rain Oct. 6, Oak Tree at Hollywood Park will race Wednesday, Oct. 27.

The California Horse Racing Board granted the Oak Tree Racing Association’s petition for the program, which will begin the final week of the inaugural Oak Tree at Hollywood Park meet.

Racing will be conducted for five days that week, starting with the Oct. 27 card that has a post time of 1 p.m.

There will be night racing (7:05 p.m. post time) on both Thursday, Oct. 28 and Friday, Oct. 29, then the season concludes with afternoon programs (1 p.m. post) on Saturday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31. The highlight of the Oct. 30 program is the California Cup, a series of seven stakes for California breds with purses totaling $700,000.
