For the second day in a row, New York’s Belmont Park has cancelled live racing.

Heavy rain and winds up to 24 miles per hour are forecast for New York City on Oct. 1, with the National Weather Service issuing a flood warning for the area.

A release from the track cited heavy rainfall, flooding, and winds as the reasons for the cancellation. The track will be open for simulcasting and NYRA Rewards telebet and internet wagering will be available.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Saturday, Oct. 2, when the card will feature five gade I stakes-- Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational, Flower Bowl Invitational, Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, Beldame, and Vosburgh.
