Fairmount Park in southern Illinois received approval Sept. 28 from the Illinois Racing Board for 75 racing dates in 2011, up from the 52 days of live racing this year.

Fairmount Park is scheduled to begin its meet March 15, 2011, and will initially race on Tuesday and Fridays until April 29. Beginning May 3, Fairmount will expand to three days per week when it adds Saturday to the lineup through Aug. 27. From Aug. 30-Sept. 30, the track will revert back to Tuesday and Friday racing each week.

In other dates, Arlington Park was awarded 86 live racing days from May 6-Sept. 25, down from the 91 days raced this year. Hawthorne has scheduled two 2011 meets that total 110 days.
