The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana has cataloged 350 horses for its yearling sale, which will be held Sept. 27 at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, La. The auction will begin at 10 a.m. (CDT).

All accredited Louisiana-bred foals offered in the sale are eligible to be nominated to either the A.L. "Red" Erwin Memorial Stakes ($150,000 guaranteed for sales horses, colts and geldings) or the Elge Rasberry Memorial Stakes ($150,000 guaranteed for sales horses, fillies).

Only horses offered in the sale are eligible for the Bayou State Bonus. Any accredited Louisiana-bred yearling that passes through the sale ring this year and goes on to win a series of races will receive a bonus of $100,000 in earnings. For fillies, the races are the Louisiana Champions Day Lassie, the Crescent City Oaks and the Elge Rasberry. For colts and geldings, the races are the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile, the Crescent City Derby and the A.L. Erwin.

“We’ve made the catalog available in several forms this year,” said Tom Early, sale manager and CEO for the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. “In addition to mailing the catalogue, our website has an interactive catalogue (http://louisianabred.com/yearling-sale/) and a version that can be downloaded.”
