Total wagering during the four-day Kentucky Downs meet that ended Sept. 20 rose 14%, with a 4% increase in on-track handle at the all-turf track in Franklin, Ky.
Kentucky Downs reported total wagering of $4,473,195, with $304,909 in on-track handle. With free admission, the track does not report attendance figures.
Purses during the meet totaled $785,000 and there were an average 9.3 starters per race.
"We had a tremendous live racing season," general manager Jon Goodman said in a statement. "The quality of racing was outstanding and there was a great deal of enthusiasm from our fans and horsemen which made it an enjoyable for everyone."
Kentucky Downs also held its second "Southern Nights Benefit Bash" that raised $35,000 for six local charities.
