Niigon, a millionaire and Canadian classic winner, came through with his first winner when his son Ojibway Signal scored Sept. 19 at Woodbine. Campaigned by D. Bell and G. Valhos, Ojibway Signal captured the mile and 70 yard race by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:45.69 in his second try at the distance.

Robert and Beth Hancock are the breeders of Ontario-bred Ojibway Signal, who is out of the Announce mare Apache Signal.

Niigon (Unbridled—Savethelastdance, by Nureyev) captured the 2004 Queen’s Plate Stakes at Woodbine and placed in seven Canadian stakes. He stands at Colebrook Farms Stallion Station near Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. His 2010 fee was $5,000 (Can. funds).
