Retired trainer Hal Wiggins will serve as the honorary chairperson for Blue Grass Farms Charities’ annual fundraiser at Fasig-Tipton Co. in Lexington on Oct. 22.
With a western theme, the "Racino Round-Up" will include dinner, music, live gaming, and live and silent auctions. Fasig-Tipton chairman Walt Robertson will serve as auctioneer, while Keeneland track announcer Kurt Becker will serve as emcee.
Blue Grass Farms Charities is a non-profit that provides housing, food, medicine, bereavement aid, counseling, and educational opportunities to people who work in the horse industry.
Live auction items to be offered include a trip to Miami Beach and Gulfstream Park; race fan packages from Keeneland, Breeders’ Cup, and Churchill Downs; a golf trip for eight; and an assortment of halters top horses. There will also be a Calcutta for the Oct. 23 feature race at Keeneland.
Nicole Pieratt of Sallee Horse Vans is co-presenting sponsor.
