A $900,000 Distorted Humor colt was the second offspring by that sire to bring a significant price during the Sept. 13 Keeneland September yearling sale. Out of a grade I winning mare and consigned by Gainesway, agent for breeder Jess Jackson’s Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, the colt was bought by B. Wayne Hughes’ Spendthrift Farm.
“I wanted to help (Jess Jackson) out,” Hughes said jokingly of why he purchased the colt. “He’s the one we liked the best—that’s the only good one (Stonestreet) had. I thought we did good (with the price). We were just below the line—not by much, but we were still a little below.”
The Kentucky-bred Distorted Humor colt is out of Hookedonthefeelin (by Citidancer), who earned more than $480,000 during her career. He is also a half brother to grade I-winning filly Pussycat Doll (by Real Quiet).
