Shadwell Estate Co. went to $800,000 for a bay colt by freshman sire Bernardini out of Private Status, by Alydar. The colt was sold by Lane’s End Farm as agent and bred by the partnership of William S. Farish, BCWT, and Innwood Stable.
Private Status is the dam of multiple grade I winner Secret Status, who is the dam of 2009 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) runner-up Dunkirk .
Shadwell also went to $700,000 seven hips earlier for a colt by Distorted Humor out of Oneofacat, by Deputy Minister. Stakes-placed Oneofacat is a daughter of Beware of the Cat, who is the dam of 2002 European champion 2-year-old colt Hold That Tiger (by Storm Cat) and Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Editor's Note.
