The Breeders’ Cup announced Sept. 9 that Keeneland Association has been named an official industry champion of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

As part of the multi-year agreement, the Lexington sales and racing association "will be fully integrated into multiple platforms of Breeders’ Cup television, print and on-site execution highlighting Breeders’ Cup starters who were sold at Keeneland," according to a press release from Keeneland.

According to the release, the agreement provides:

--During each Breeders’ Cup Challenge telecast on ESPN, the Keeneland logo will appear on-screen next to each Keeneland sales graduate in the post parades of six live races.

--During the Breeders’ Cup World Championships telecasts on ABC/ESPN the Keeneland logo will appear next to each horse in the post parades of 12 Breeders’ Cup races.

--The Keeneland logo will also appear in front of each sales graduate on the telecast of the simulcast for all 21 races conducted at the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

--The Keeneland logo will be displayed on the "Past Performance" pages in the official race track program of the World Championships.

"We are very excited about our new partnership with Keeneland and the opportunity to work together to showcase the best horses in the world to the broadest possible audience of racing fans and prospective horse owners," Breeders’ Cup president and CEO Greg Avioli said in the release.

"This partnership is a natural extension of the longstanding relationship between Keeneland and the Breeders’ Cup," said Keeneland president and CEO Nick Nicholson. "This partnership allows us to showcase the outstanding horses that come through our auction ring and go on to Breeders’ Cup greatness."

This year’s World Championships will be held Nov. 5-6 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
