Agent Harry Hasek, who has handled Gary Steven's book for several years, is listed in the first Del Mar condition book as Steven's Del Mar contact.
Reached on his cell phone Thursday, Hasek said the listing is "premature" and Stevens has no immediate plans to return to racing. Citing chronic knee problems, Stevens retired from racing on Opening Day at Santa Anita in December. His return to the saddle has been the subject of gossip and speculation in recent days. During a televised pre-race commentary Del Mar inter-track broadcaster Mike Willman went so far as to predict a Stevens comeback in the first week of August. Hasek said nothing is certain.
"There's nothing in cement,'' Hasek said. "Gary's got to put some things in order before he returns. I wish I could say more but he's the boss and doesn't want to talk about it just yet.''
