Undefeated mare Zenyatta worked five furlongs in a bullet 1:00 1/5 at Hollywood Park on Sept. 2 as she continues to prepare for her next start in the Oct. 2 Lady’s Secret Stakes (gr. I). The time was the fastest of 11 horses working the distance over the artificial Cushion Track surface.

The 6-year-old daughter of Street Cry trained by John Shirreffs for Jerry and Ann Moss has won the 1 1/16-mile Lady’s Secret each of the last two years when it was run as part of the Oak Tree meet at Santa Anita. This year’s Oak Tree meet is being hosted by Hollywood Park.

The Lady’s Secret had been renamed in honor of Zenyatta after the mare’s retirement was announced last year, but it has since reverted back to the Lady’s Secret at the request of the Mosses and Shirreffs.

Zenyatta, who is 18-for-18, is scheduled to use the Lady’s Secret as a prep for her defense of the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) she won last year.
