Carter Road, a son of Daylight Savings, brought the top price of $16,000 during the Michigan Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association yearling sale Aug. 29 at the Michigan State University Pavilion in East Lansing, Mich. Dan McCarthy purchased the bay colt from Opportunity Lane, agent.

Carter Road is out of the stakes-winning Matchlite mare Just Tricks and is a full brother to Daytime Tricks, who has finished second once in her three career races.

The gross for the 13 yearlings sold during the auction was $51,500. The average price was $3,962, and the median price was $2,500. The buy-back rate was 40.9%.
