Greenwood Racing will make donations worth $100,000 to charities involved in disaster relief efforts in New York City.
Company chairman Bob Green said the contributions would be split equally among the following charities: The New York Times 9/11 Neediest Fund; the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund; the Firefighter, EMS, and
Rescue Workers Relief Fund; and the World Trade Center Police Disaster
Relief Fund.
"We are honored and privileged to join other members of the business community and countless individuals in helping those affected by the horrific events of Sept. 11 in the city of New York and Washington,
D.C.," Green said.
Greenwood owns and operates Philadelphia Park and its Turf Club off-track wagering facilities in southeast Pennsylvania.
