Philanthropist, a New York graded stakes winner, came through with his first winner when his son Charlie Bull won at Woodbine Aug. 20.

A homebred for Hard Eight Stables and Ace Racing, Charlie Bull scored by a half length in 1:11.80 for six furlongs on Polytrack in his second start.

An Ontario-bred, Charlie Bull is the fourth winner from four foals of racing age out of the winning Tethra mare Cosa Rara. Two of the mare’s foals, Cawaja Beach and Who’s Big Daddy, are stakes winners.

Philanthropist (Kris S.—Hidden Reserve, by Mr. Prospector) also is the sire of Canadian stakes-placed Wonder Phil. Philanthropist stands at Gardiner Farms Limited near Caledon, Ontario, Canada. His 2010 fee was $3,500 (Canadian funds).
