Better Than Honour, the 2007 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year,  produced “an incredible” Street Cry filly earlier this year and she is back in foal to Street Cry and carrying another filly, according to Mike Moreno, whose Southern Equine Stables owns the 13-year-old daughter of Deputy Minister.

“It works for me because I want fillies,” said Moreno, whose business plan is to sell the “good” colts and keep the fillies produced by his broodmare band.

Better Than Honour is the dam of 2006 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Jazil (by Seeking the Gold), 2007 Belmont Stakes winner and champion Rags to Riches (by A.P. Indy), and 2008 Peter Pan Stakes (gr. II) winner Casino Drive (by Mineshaft  ).

In 1998, Better Than Honour captured the Demoiselle Stakes (gr. II). She holds the world record for a Thoroughbred broodmare sold at public auction of $14 million. She brought that price during the 2008 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select mixed sale, when Southern Equine bought out the interest owned by its partner in the mare, John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms. Sikura's Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency consigned Better Than Honour.
