Werblin Colt Tops Minnesota Sale

A colt by Werblin brought the top price of $17,000 during the Minnesota Thoroughbred Association's sale of yearlings and horses of racing age Aug. 7 in the North Star State. Wayne Simon purchased the chestnut colt from Chad Kuehn.

The yearling is out of the Mt. Livermore mare Bush Landslide. She failed to win in three career races, but is a half sister to added-money winner Salinja (by Boundary) and the stakes-placed winner and stakes producer Kisbey (by Thunder Gulch  ).

The gross for the 17 horses that sold was $84,300. The average price was $4,959, and the median price was $2,600. The buy-back rate was 63%, with 29 of the 46 horses offered failing to find new homes.
