Hall of Fame jockey Russell Baze added one victory to his total Aug. 12 during the Sonoma County Fair program at Santa Rosa and needs three more to become the first to reach 11,000 in a career.
Baze's lone victory in seven mounts at the Northern California venue came aboard odds-on favorite Waltzing Swan in the fourth race, a 1 1/16-mile turf event for fillies and mares racing for a $20,000 claiming price. Waltzing Swan, trained by William Morey, won by 1 1/4 lengths and paid $3.80. She was claimed out of the race by trainer Jedd Josephson.
Baze has seven mounts on the Aug. 13 card at Santa Rosa.
