French group I winner Torrential has been sold to a syndicate of Brazilian breeders and will take up stallion duty at Afonso Burlamaqui's Haras Santa Rita da Serra, Tijucas do Sul, in the state of Parana, Brazil. Renato Gameiro, from Albatroz Bloodstock in Lexington, helped engineer the deal.
A half-brother to deceased major sire Fappiano, 9-year-old Torrential (Gulch--Killaloe, by Dr. Fager) began his stallion career at Sheikh Maktoum's Gainsborough Farm near Versailles, Ky. He also shuttled to Australia for Southern Hemisphere breeding seasons.
