California Stallion Snorter Dies

Snorter, a graded stakes winner, died of a stroke Aug. 11. The 10-year-old son of Awesome Again   stood at Cal Fischer’s Madera Thoroughbreds near Madera, Calif.

Snorter was a stakes winner for Gary and Mary West Stables. He captured the 2004 Berkeley Breeders’ Cup Handicap (gr. III). During his career, Snorter won or placed in 10 of 26 races and earned $242,593.

Snorter’s dam, Retiro Park (by Meadowlake), is a full sister to champion Meadow Star.
