The National Thoroughbred Racing Association Safety and Integrity Alliance will host the first NTRA Professional Education Seminar—Presented by Pfizer Animal Health and Keeneland Oct. 19 at Keeneland in Lexington. Attendance at the free ar will help satisfy continuing education requirements for racetracks as mandated by the alliance code of standards.
The seminar will feature speakers from across the country that will discuss health and safety topics of interest to trainers, aftercare organizations, track medical directors, racing officials, farriers, and regulatory and association veterinarians.
The alliance is in its second year of accrediting member racetracks.
“The NTRA Professional Education Seminar will assemble leading experts in one location so that attendees can learn about the latest issues, developments, and techniques pertaining to human and equine safety in Thoroughbred racing,” alliance executive director Mike Ziegler said in a statement. “All participants will find this one-day gathering extremely helpful in their professional development.”
Two of the seminar’s sessions—those designed for trainers and for racing officials—will be streamed live at NTRA.com, beginning at 9:00 a.m. (ET). The complete schedule for the seminar is avalable at the NTRA website.
