Mill House’s Trappe Shot , second to Lookin At Lucky in the IZOD Haskell Invitational (gr. I), will make his next start at Saratoga Race Course on Aug. 28, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said Aug. 4.
"We do know, if everything goes well, that he will run on August 28," said the trainer. "What we don’t know yet is what race he will run in."
The two choices for the 3-year-old Tapit colt are the 141st running of the $1 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) at 1 1/4 miles or the $250,000 King’s Bishop Stakes (gr. I) at seven furlongs.
"I was very happy with his race against Lookin At Lucky, who was the champion 2-year-old colt and probably will be the champion 3-year-old colt," said McLaughlin. "Now we have a choice between facing Discreetly Mine in the King’s Bishop, or running 1 1/4 miles.
"It’s a jump ball--both are grade I races and very important races as a stallion (prospect). Fortunately we are in a position to be able to make that kind of choice, and we don’t have to make it right away."
