Smart Strike Colt Sells for $750,000

A bay colt by Smart Strike   out of stakes winner Sluice bought by John Ferguson for $750,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale Aug. 3. Sluice, by Seeking the Gold, is the dam of two foals to race that are both winners.

The colt, consigned by Denali Stud as agent for Diane and Guy Snowden's Falls Creek Farm, is a half brother to Mushka who won the Juddmonte Spinster Stakes (gr. I) and finished second in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic (gr. I) to Life Is Sweet. The Snowdens bred the colt.
