Graded stakes winner Survivalist sired his first winner when his son Wainwright eked out a neck triumph at Northlands Park Aug.1 in his initial start. Racing for Red Ron Farms, Wainwright ran the 3 1/2 furlongs in :41.60.

Cavendish Investing is the breeder of Ontario-bred Wainwright, who is the second winner from two foals of racing age from the Dixieland Band mare Lady Shakin. Wainwright’s third dam is champion Relaxing, dam of champion Easy Goer.

Survivalist (Danzig—Miner’s Game, by Mr. Prospector) stands at Michael Byrne’s Park Stud near Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. His 2010 fee was $10,000 (Canadian funds).
