A halter and an autographed photo of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Super Saver and a Barbaro print will be auctioned off on eBay to benefit the Halo House Foundation in Houston, Texas.
Bidding for the Super Saver items and Barbaro print, which are being offered separately, begins at 7 p.m. (PDT) July 28 and concludes at 7 p.m. (PDT) Aug. 7.
Included with the halter is an 8"-by-10" photo of Super Saver winning the Derby. The photograph is signed by Doug Cauthen and Elliott Walden of WinStar Farm, trainer Todd Pletcher, and jockey Calvin Borel. Super Saver was the first Derby winner for WinStar and for Pletcher and the third Derby winner in the last four years for Borel.
The 11"-by-14" print of 2006 Derby winner Barbaro was donated by artist Christine George and is signed by trainer Michael Matz.
The Halo House Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing fully furnished, low-cost housing to people with leukemia or lymphoma receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Proceeds from the auction will help purchase housing and furnishings for lymphoma and leukemia patients.
