Acting upon the advice of the Delaware Racing Commission veterinarians, Delaware Park cancelled its live racing card July 24 due to the excessive heat in the area.
Local temperatures are expected to approach 100 degrees Saturday, with the heat index nearing 105.
The facility will remain open for slots, table games, and simulcasting. Live racing at Delaware Park is scheduled to return on Monday, July 26.
