Connie and Michael, the 5-1 morning-line co-second choice in today’s Betfair TVG Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I) at Saratoga, has been scratched with an abscess on her right front foot, trainer Dominick Schettino revealed.

“It started yesterday and we’ve been working on it,” said Schettino. “We’ll need a couple of days before we can put her back into training. The plan right now is to make the Alabama (gr. I, Aug. 21).

A five-length winner of a Churchill Downs allowance in May, Connie and Michael was second to Devil May Care, the 6-5 morning-line favorite in the Coaching Club, in the Mother Goose (gr. I) at Belmont in June.

Also scratched from the CCA Oaks was longshot Lisa's Booby Trap, who is undefeated in three lifetime starts, all at Finger Lakes.
