Henny Hughes came through with his first winner when his son Dalamar scored July 21 at Delaware Park (VIDEO). Away alertly in the five-furlong race, the colt scored in a front-running effort by two lengths in :59.20.

A Kentucky homebred for Jerry Bailey and Lance Robinson’s Gulf Coast Farms, Dalamar is the first winner out of the Deputy Minister mare Dutchess Mojo. Dalamar’s second dam is a full sister to Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Fusaichi Pegasus.

A leading sprinter in 2006, Henny Hughes (Hennessy--Meadow Flyer, by Meadowlake) won that year’s Vosburgh Stakes (gr. I), King’s Bishop Stakes (gr. I), and the Jersey Shore Breeders’ Cup Stakes (gr. III). He stands at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington. His 2010 fee was $25,000.

Henny Hughes is represented by 100 juveniles.
