Robin Scully’s Clovelly Farms will disperse its stock at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. The Lexington farm will sell approximately 35 head consisting of mares, weanlings, and racing stock.
According to a farm representative, Scully, who has owned Clovelly since 1959, feels that now is a good time to sell.

Clovelly, which has been managed by Jeff Ownby since 1997, is the breeder of such major performers as Silver Hawk, Alkaased, Ancient Regime, Cricket Ball, Pay the Butler, and Pleasantly Perfect  , who won the 2003 Breeders’ Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I). Another Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, longshot Arcangues (in 1993), was raised at Clovelly.

Among the mares scheduled to sell are Soiree Russe, dam of English group winner Tazeez, and Tustarta, dam of stakes winners Cry of Freedom and Lickety Lemon. Tazeez, by Silver Hawk, ran third in this year’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Eng-I).

Soiree Russe is in foal to Lemon Drop Kid  , and Tustarta, who is from Pleasantly Perfect’s female family, is in foal to Tiznow  .

Clovelly also will have a consignment at the Keeneland September yearling sale. The yearlings were consigned to the sale before a decision was made to disperse the remaining stock.

A decision has not been reached about the farm property.
