A glossary of veterinary terms is the latest in a series of “Plain and Simple” educational booklets published by the Consignors and Commercial Breeders Association  (CBA). The booklet was available on the sale grounds during the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July select yearling  auction July 13-14 in Lexington.

Information in the 21-page booklet includes a chapter on developing a client/veterinarian relationship, illustrations of the horse’s skeleton, foot, and front and hind limbs, and a list of veterinary terms and their definitions.

Along with describing various veterinary abnormalities, the booklet has lists of horses that suffered from those problems and went on to race successfully.

Previous booklets published by the CBA were “Success at the Sales – Plain and Simple: 50 Things You Need to Know, Do, and Remember;” “Buying Yearlings – Plain and Simple;” “Vet Work – Plain And Simple: OCDs in Sale Horses;” and “Vet Work – Plain and Simple: Scoping.” They can be viewed on the CBA’s website: www.consignorsandbreeders.com.
