Due to power outages in the neighboring Averill Park community, Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., canceled live racing and simulcasting July 16.

New York Racing Association officials said the outages resulted in a lack of power at Belmont, with interruptions expected to persist throughout the day. The interruptions would interfere with facility operations, including simulcasting and mutuel machines.

NYRA Rewards Internet and Telebet wagering are available, officials said.

The Belmont meet ends July 18. Saratoga opens July 23.
