Dubakella Mountain Dead

Dubakella Mountain, a two-time Oregon Broodmare of the Year, died June 5, shortly after foaling a full brother to three-time Oregon Horse of the Year Ex Mountain Cop. She was 14. The newborn colt, by Ex Marks the Cop, is on a nurse mare.

By Kleven out of the Court Ruling mare Match Penalty, Dubakella Mountain was voted Oregon’s best broodmare in 2006 and 2008. Ex Mountain Cop was a six-time state champion.

Dubakella Mountain was a stakes winner for Jim Gilmour and Gretchen Graves. Trained by Sue M. Gilmour, she won the 2000 Donna Jensen Handicap at Portland Meadows.

Dubakella Mountain was owned at the time of her death by Dan Lynch and Richard Novak and was kept at Beckner Farm near Albany, Ore.
