Mike Lakow, general manager of John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms, is leaving his position to pursue his own career in racing. He started with the Lexington farm in the summer of 2005.

“Racing has always been my passion, and I wish to get back into that aspect of the game,” said Lakow, a former racing secretary for the New York Racing Association.

“In these times I believe my experience at the highest level of racing can be of value. I have enjoyed my time at Hill ‘n’ Dale and have furthered my knowledge of the breeding and sales business. It was a great opportunity for me and I leave with no regrets.”

“Mike Lakow was a great employee,” Sikura said. “He was loyal and tireless in his support of Hill ‘n’ Dale. He learned all aspects of our business quickly and did so in a manner that represented us well. He will be a great asset to the racing game and is uniquely qualified to make his mark in racing. I can think of no one that has enjoyed his level of responsibility in all aspects of the business.”
