Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver , who returned to the work tab the morning of June 12, came out of the four-furlong move in good order, reported Jonathan Thomas, assistant to trainer Todd Pletcher.
Eighth in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I) in his most recent start, the WinStar Farm-owned colt covered a half-mile in :49 1/5 at Belmont Park.
“Super Saver worked very well and came out of it great,” said Thomas in a release. “We wanted to give him the opportunity to stretch his legs and get back in normal preparations.”
With the Travers Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga Aug. 28 a primary goal, Super Saver will breeze again June 19, said Thomas.
Among the Pletcher-trained horses who breezed June 13 were Aikenite , who went four furlongs in :48.07 over the training track; Munnings , who went a half-mile in :49.63 on the main track, and the Mother Goose (gr. I)-bound Devil May Care, who covered five furlongs in :1:01.05.
Thomas added that Life At Ten emerged from her front-running score in the June 12 Ogden Phipps (gr. I) in fine form.
“Nothing has been discussed regarding her next start,” he said.
