Registration for the Fasig-Tipton 5K race (3.1 miles) and one-mile “fun run,” which will be held Aug. 7 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., is live online at the sale company’s web site: www.fasigtipton.com. The races will start in front of the newly renovated Fasig-Tipton sale pavilion.

All proceeds will be divided equally among the New York Racing Association’s four charities: Anna House, Backstretch Employee Service Team, New York Racetrack Chaplaincy, and the Backstretch Education Fund.

Packet pickup and race day Registration for both events are scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. (EDT).The “fun run” will start at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K race will begin at 8 a.m.

There will be refreshments and musical entertainment, as well as awards presentations to the top runners in each age group, immediately following the 5K race.
 
"Last year’s event was so good we decided to do this again. We had a great turnout and perfect weather,” said race director Anna Seitz of Fasig-Tipton. “The people of Saratoga loved being able to see the changes that Fasig-Tipton has been working on, and we are getting to know many locals who live/summer in Saratoga and who are looking forward to participating in the race again this year. Saratoga has a great community, and a lot of local sponsors teamed up with us to put on this race. It was a win/win for everyone last year and best of all we were able to raise about $10,000 for the charities.”
