Custom for Carlos , the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the True North Handicap (gr. II) June 5, was apparently injured in his stall overnight, according to his trainer, and has been scratched.
“He hurt himself in the stall sometime last night,” Eddie Kenneally said. “He has a gash on one of his front feet. We’re not sure how he got it. It’s a little, nasty gash, and he wouldn’t be 100% if he raced today.”
Owned by Homewrecker Racing and Avalon Farms, Custom for Carlos has won three of his last four starts, including graded stakes wins in the Mr. Prospector and Count Fleet Handicap (both gr. III).
