Warm, Sunny Conditions for Preakness Day

Weather won’t be a factor for this year’s Preakness Stakes (gr. I).

At about 9 a.m. EDT May 15, it was almost 70 degrees in Baltimore amid sunshine and thin clouds. The forecast calls for all-day sun with a temperature of about 75 degrees by Preakness post time, which is set for about 6:15 p.m.

The main track is fast and the turf course is firm at Pimlico Race Course.

First post time is set for 10:45 a.m. for the 13-race card. The first stakes of the program, the grade III Chick Lang Stakes for 3-year-olds, is set for 1:37 p.m.
