An alligator on the track caused a delay during Thursday night’s card at Delta Downs in Louisiana.

Outriders Jan Morton and Bret Thibodeaux “convinced” the alligator to leave the track. Sids Jewel, a 5-year-old Louisiana gelding by First Down Jewel, would go on to win the sixth race at Delta Downs, a 550-yard event for $10,000 claiming Quarter Horses.
