The Association of Racing Commissioners International has announced the annual Pari-Mutuel Regulatory Auditors Meeting will be held June 2-3 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana.
According to the release, among the topics will be the recent wagering system testing conducted by GLI for Texas and a new contract signing with BMM for writing tote system standards. The independent wagering system testing project was conducted on United Tote’s system in Kentucky, Scientific Games’ system in New Jersey, and AmTote’s system in Maryland.
At the event, the findings of the GLI testing project will be presented by Carol Olewin of the Texas Racing Commission. Olewin chairs RCI’s pari-mutuel regulatory audtiors committee.
According to the RCI release, the testing project "identified a number of key issues such as the absence of standards regarding wagering terminals and highlighted the need to review and update tote standards for current technology. Jurisdictions with wagering processed through these hubs will be interested in hearing about the testing process, outcomes and recommendations."
The two-day conference begins with a forum for participants and jurisdictional updates on advance deposit wagering, secondary pari-mutuel operations, and purse auditing. The auditors committee will discuss the RCI Model Rules pertaining to wagering pool. Also on the agenda is discussion of methods and procedures for auditing purses.
