TOBA Dinner to be Held at Keeneland

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association announced that the 25th Annual TOBA National Awards Dinner will be held at Keeneland September 10.

“This party has been hosted at so many wonderful, historic venues through the years and we are honored to be able to now include Keeneland on that list,” said Keeneland president Nick Nicholson in a statement. “TOBA is an important part of our industry and when they approached us about partnering on this event, we felt it was a perfect fit.”

The Awards Dinner honors the achievements of Thoroughbred owners in the four major North American racing regions and breeders in 26 states.  Also honored are the national breeder of the year, national owner of the year, and The Racing Game’s new owner of the year.

In addition, the inaugural Rood & Riddle Thoroughbred sport horse of the year award will be presented to the owner of the ex-Thoroughbred racehorse that has accumulated the most points in competition, as tracked by the United States Equestrian Federation.

“It is a tremendous honor to partner with Keeneland in presenting the 2010 TOBA Awards,” said Dan Metzger, president of TOBA. “With buyers and sellers from around the world attending the Keeneland September yearling sale, we believe that we have the perfect setting to honor the leading owners and breeders in our sport.”

The awards dinner will also feature a silent auction and musical entertainment. Tickets will be on sale in July. For more information please visit www.toba.org.
