WinStar Farm’s Super Saver is the 7-1 early favorite for the May 1 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands, based on the early wagering at Churchill Downs.
With a record Oaks day crowd on hand under the Twin Spires, $1,389,330 was wagered on the Derby. There was $340,544 in the win pool.

Super Saver, who broke his maiden over a sloppy, sealed track at Belmont Park last September, is the 7-1 favorite in the 20-horse field. The National Weather Service is calling for rain in the Louisville, Ky., area tomorrow morning and into Derby day.
Lookin At Lucky, the 3-1 morning line favorite of track oddsmaker Mike Battaglia is 9-1. No other entrant is at single-digit odds. Sidney’s Candy, who will break from the outside 20 post and was the second choice on the morning line, is at 11-1.
