Quarter Moon battled to the lead in the final furlong to win Sunday's Moyglare Stud Stakes (Ire-I) at the Curragh. On good to yielding turf at the Irish track, 2-year-old filly Quarter Moon completed the seven furlongs in 1:24.5 under Michael Kinane.

Trained by Aidan O'Brien for owner Mrs. Richard Henry, Quarter Moon is a daughter of Sadler's Wells out of Jude, by Darshaan. Quarter Moon earned her first career group stakes win in her second career start, having previously finished second in the Irish National Stud Debutante Stakes (Ire-III) in her racing debut last month. Premier Bloodstock bred her in Ireland.

Moyglare Stud Farm's Dress to Thrill (by Danehill) finished three-quarters of a length back in second. Sophisticat, a daughter of Storm Cat out of Serena's Song and a $3.4 million yearling purchase at the 2000 Keeneland July sale, finished a neck farther back in third, another neck ahead of Miss Beabea. Bright and Clear finished fifth in the 17-horse field.
