Monmouth Park racing secretary Sean Greely assigned highweight of 123 pounds to Stronach Stable's Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Red Bullet for the $1-million Haskell Invitational (gr. I) to be run at Monmouth August 6. Of the 21 other invitees, Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Commendable (122 pounds) has the next highest weight assignment, followed by More Than Ready and Unshaded, both at 119 pounds.

"This is going to be a very competitive Haskell," said Greely. "The three topweights--Red Bullet, Commendable, and More Than Ready--are all coming, I expect we'll have a field of seven or eight."

Thistyranthasclass won Monmouth's Haskell prep--the $100,000 Long Branch Breeders' Cup Stakes--by 1 3/4 lengths over Graeme Hall for his fourth consecutive win at the New Jersey track. The son of Regal Classic was assigned 114 pounds for the Haskell.

Others considered likely for the Haskell according to the track are Dixie Union (117), Hal's Hope (115), and Kiss a Native (113).
