A Freud filly posted the fastest workout time for a quarter mile April 14 during the second session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida. She covered the distance in :20 2/5.
Consigned by Everett Livestock, the bay juvenile is out of the winning Judge T C mare Unbridled Cyclone and is a half sister to the winner Show Me the Cash (by Artax), who finished second in the 2008 Pilgrim Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Belmont Park. Unbridled Cyclone is a full sister to the Puerto Rican group I winner Mi Jesuse.
Six horses were the quickest workers at an eighth of a mile, each turning in a time of :9 4/5. They included a Stormy Atlantic – Seattle Stardust colt, consigned by Leprechaun Racing, agent; an Indian Ocean – Stacie’s Halo colt named Bestcasescenario, consigned by Bridlewood Farm; and a Posse – Starlit Lake filly named Prairie Posse, consigned by Indian Prairie Ranch. The others were a City Zip – Stylish Manner colt, consigned by Ricky Leppala, agent; a Gibson County – Tanja colt, consigned by McKathan Bros., agent; and a Sharp Humor – U Got the Touch filly named Skiddles n’ Bob, consigned by Sescan, agent. Skiddles n’ Bob is a member of her sire’s first crop.
Two juveniles posted the fastest clockings at three furlongs, each completing the distance in :33. They were a Greatness – Southern Wave filly named Wave of Greatness, consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, agent, and a Pico Central – Strawberrydaiquiri filly, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent.
Two horses each worked a half mile, and a Peace Rules – Shady Woman colt posted the faster time of :45 3/5. He is consigned by 30 - 30 Farm, agent.
The third session of the under tack show is scheduled for April 15, beginning at 8 a.m. The fourth and final session will be held April 16. The spring sale will be conducted April 19-22.
