Broken Vow to Stand at Pin Oak

Broken Vow, who won the Aug. 26 Philip H. Iselin Handicap (gr. II) at Monmouth Park for his third consecutive stakes win and his fourth in his last five starts, will enter stud in 2002 at Josephine Abercrombie's Pin Oak Stud near Versailles, Ky. A 4-year-old homebred son of Unbridled, Broken Vow races in the name of Pin Oak Stable and is scheduled to run next in the Sept. 28 Meadowlands Cup (gr. II), then the Oct. 27 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).

Broken Vow, who is trained by H Graham Motion, won all four of his starts as a 3-year-old, including the Sir Barton Stakes at Pimlico, and has taken five of his eight starts this year. His earlier added-money wins this year came in the Ben Ali (gr. III), R. R. M. Carpenter Jr. Memorial, and Skip Away Stakes. He also placed in the Gulfstream Park (gr. I) and Massachusetts (gr. II) Handicaps and has career earnings of $591,906.

Broken Vow, who is a half-brother to stakes winner Threshold, was produced from the Nijinsky II mare Wedding Vow, a full sister to graded stakes winner Winged Victory and half-sister to two stakes winners. Second dam Wedding Picture is a multiple stakes winner.
