Trainer Wayne Catalano was pleased with champion filly She Be Wild after she breezed April 13 in her first work since running third in the Central Bank Ashland (gr. I) April 3.

With exercise rider Jose Santos aboard, She Be Wild was timed in 1:00 for five furlongs at Keeneland. The move was the fastest of 27 timed works at the distance.

“She worked very well this morning,” Catalano said in a release. “I was happy with her work.”

The April 30 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) at Churchill Downs could be She Be Wild’s next target, Catalano said.

“We’re still looking at the Oaks,” he said. We’re going to breeze her back probably at Churchill Downs and see how she handles the dirt. We’ll probably work her about a week out from the race. We’ll see how the weather and track conditions are.”

The Ashland marked She Be Wild’s second race of the year. Catalano trains the 3-year-old Offlee Wild   filly for Nancy Mazzoni.
