Offlee Wild  , last year’s leading first-crop sire and leading sire of 2-year-olds, will shuttle to Argentina to stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Haras La Leyenda, it was announced April 9 by Darley America.

A son of Wild AgainAlvear, by Seattle Slew, Offlee Wild banked $1,951,283 with his first crop last year, headed by champion 2-year-old filly She Be Wild, winner of the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). In total, this crop yielded 17 winners and two stakes winners. Offlee Wild’s other stakes winner, Heavenville, won the March 27 Crescent City Derby at Fair Grounds.

“We are delighted to be standing Offlee Wild in Argentina this year,” said Alberto Stein, owner of Haras La Leyenda in a statement. “He is an outstanding young sire, as has been shown by the success of his first crop of runners and we are sure that he will prove extremely popular here in the southern hemisphere.”

Offlee Wild was a multiple stakes winner. His most important win came in the 2005 Suburban Handicap (gr. I).

Offlee Wild is currently standing at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington, for a $7,500 fee.
